Berthe Morisot was associated with the French Impressionists and Grain Field from 1875 does show a loose style, typical of that movement.

But instead of only rendering color and light effects, which she does, she also introduces the social and psychological element of the man staring out of the landscape at us. Also, her thick application of paint is more akin to van Gogh’s Post-Impressionism than to her own circle.

Berthe Morisot’s Grain Field is in the Musée d’Orsay in Paris, France.
