Here Belgian Artist Théo van Rysselberghe paints a coastal scene in the pointillist style in 1892, just six years after French painters Georges Seurat and Paul Signac developed the technique. The scene is very likely that of the French Riviera which van Rysselberghe visited each year during the 1890s.
Théo van Rysselberghe’s Coastal Scene is in the National Gallery in London, United Kingdom.
