Madonna with the Long Neck: Parmigianino

Madonna with the Long Neck: Parmigianino

Madonna with the Long Neck is a 1534 Mannerist painting by Italian artist Parmigianino. The work has been in the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, Italy since 1948.

The painting is well known for its strange proportions – the unusually long neck of the Madonna and the unrealistic difference in sizes of the figures in the painting. If you look at the bottom right there is also an unfinished figure where only feet exist.
