Boy in a Red Waistcoat is in keeping with Paul Cézanne’s flair for Post-Impressionist experimentation with shapes, volume, and angles. Aside from the red of the center, all the elements for the later development of Cubism are here, painted between 1888 and 1890, well before the movement started.
Paul Cézanne’s Boy in a Red Waistcoat is in the National Gallery of Art in Washington.
